Maintenance Technician

As a Maintenance Technician in the chemical industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of chemical manufacturing facilities. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and repairing equipment, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring safety and environmental regulations compliance.

Your primary responsibilities will include performing routine maintenance tasks on chemical processing equipment, such as pumps, reactors, valves, and piping systems. This may involve inspecting, lubricating, and adjusting machinery and identifying and replacing worn or faulty components to prevent breakdowns and minimize downtime.

You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues that arise during production. This may involve using diagnostic tools, interpreting technical manuals and schematics, and working closely with other maintenance personnel to identify and implement solutions.

In addition to reactive maintenance, you will be responsible for implementing preventative maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and longevity of equipment. This may involve developing maintenance schedules, conducting inspections, and performing predictive maintenance tasks to identify and address potential issues before they result in downtime.

Safety is a top priority in the chemical industry, and you must adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance tasks. You will also ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies to minimize the risk of accidents and environmental incidents.

To excel in this role, you should have a strong understanding of chemical processing equipment and processes, as well as experience in maintenance and repair work. You should have knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Effective communication skills are essential, as you will interact with other maintenance personnel, engineers, and production staff on a regular basis. You should be able to communicate technical information clearly and concisely and follow instructions and procedures accurately.

Previous experience as a maintenance technician in the chemical industry is preferred, along with relevant technical training or certification. A strong commitment to safety, reliability, and quality is essential in this role.
