Data Analyst

As a Data Analyst in the chemical industry, you will analyze and interpret data to support decision-making and improve operational efficiency within chemical manufacturing facilities. Your role will involve collecting, processing, and analyzing data from various sources to provide insights and recommendations to management and operations teams.

Your primary responsibilities will include collecting and organizing data from different sources, such as production systems, laboratory tests, and quality control records. You will use statistical analysis and data visualization techniques to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that can help improve process performance and product quality.

In addition to data analysis, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining reporting systems and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor process performance in real time. You will work closely with operations, engineering, and quality control teams to ensure data is accurate, reliable, and actionable.

You will also be responsible for analyzing data to identify opportunities for process optimization and improvement. This may involve conducting root cause analysis, identifying bottlenecks or inefficiencies, and recommending solutions to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.

Safety and compliance are top priorities in the chemical industry. You will need to ensure that all data analysis activities comply with regulatory requirements and company policies. You will also maintain data integrity and confidentiality to protect sensitive information.

To excel in this role, you should have a strong background in data analysis and statistics and experience using analytical tools and software such as Excel, Python, R, or SQL. You should also have excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

Effective communication skills are essential, as you will present findings and recommendations to management and operations teams. You should be able to communicate technical information clearly and concisely and collaborate effectively with colleagues across different departments.

Previous experience as a data analyst in the chemical industry or a related field is preferred, along with a bachelor's degree in statistics, data science, engineering, or a related field. A strong understanding of chemical processes and manufacturing operations is advantageous.
