Tool & Die Manager

As a Tool & Die Manager, you will lead the tooling department and oversee the design, fabrication, maintenance, and repair of tooling and dies used in the manufacturing process. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the availability of high-quality tooling to support production operations.

Your primary responsibilities will include managing the tooling department's activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation. You will lead a team of skilled tool and die makers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the department.

You will be responsible for overseeing the design and development of new tooling and dies, working closely with engineering and production teams to meet project requirements and deadlines. You will also be responsible for ensuring the timely maintenance and repair of existing tooling to minimize downtime and ensure production continuity.

In addition to managing tooling projects, you may be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality control processes to ensure that all tooling meets the required specifications and quality standards. This may involve conducting inspections, performing measurements, and implementing corrective actions as needed.

To excel in this role, you should have a strong background in tool and die-making, with experience in both design and fabrication. You should have a thorough understanding of machining processes, materials, and tooling techniques and experience with CAD/CAM software.

Strong leadership and management skills are essential, as you will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of skilled professionals. You should be able to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders and resolve conflicts and problems as they arise.

Previous experience in tool and die-making, preferably in a leadership or management role, is required. A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field may be advantageous.
