CNC Programmer
As a CNC Programmer, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process by programming and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality parts and components. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring machining equipment's efficient and accurate operation.
Your primary responsibilities will include interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to create CNC programs that control the movements of the machine tools. You will use computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software to generate toolpaths, select cutting tools, and optimize machining processes.
In addition to programming, you will set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes, mills, and routers, to produce parts according to the programmed instructions. You will be responsible for monitoring the machining process, making adjustments as necessary to ensure quality and accuracy, and inspecting finished parts to ensure they meet specifications.
You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during the machining process, such as tool wear or machine malfunctions. This may involve adjusting program parameters, replacing tooling, or making adjustments to machine settings.
Safety is a top priority in this role. You will need to adhere to safety protocols and procedures while operating CNC machines, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others in the manufacturing facility.
To excel in this role, you should have a strong understanding of machining principles and CNC programming techniques, as well as proficiency in CAD/CAM software. You should be detail-oriented, with the ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Strong problem-solving skills are essential, as you may encounter challenges that require quick thinking and creative solutions to overcome. You should also be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, collaborating with other machinists, engineers, and supervisors to achieve production goals.
Previous experience in CNC programming and machining is preferred, along with relevant technical training or certification.
If you are a skilled CNC programmer committed to quality and precision, this is the job for you.
